Nestled in the southwest corner of Western Australia, the Geographe wine region is a hidden gem known for its rich history, diverse geography, and quality wines.

Named after Geographe Bay, this area has gained recognition for its exceptional offerings. Geographe enjoys a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and cool, wet winters. The cooling sea breezes from the Indian Ocean create an ideal environment for grape cultivation. Home to 57 growers, 26 producers and 36 different grape varieties, Geographe is the most diverse wine region in Western Australia. You can reach the region in under two hours by road from Perth, starting with Harvey in the north, through to Bunbury, Capel and Busselton and eastwards to include Donnybrook and Ferguson Valley. JarrahWood Estate can be found in Brookhampton, just 8 minutes away from Donnybrook.

GRENACHE 2023

Matured in classy French oak JarrahWood Grenache 2023 exhibits the varietally characteristic of cherry and red fruit. The palate is rich and structured with lush tannins driving a persistent finish. The vines have been lovingly tended to produce small batches of intense hand-picked fruit.

2024 Western Australian Boutique and Single Vineyard Wine Show – Bronze Medal

“If you’re looking for a classically defined grenache, then this little fellow from Brookhamption in the Geographe region ticks all the boxes, and then some. The nose, which features perfumed raspberry and fragrant red flowers, is striking and appealing. The palate is seamlessly woven with slightly grainy tannins adding a textural feel and fine acid sustaining the finish. It has a chalky mouthfeel with excellent depth of fruit and medium weight. Score: 92/100” Ray Jordan

“JarrahWood’s Estate’s 2023 Grenache is a very drinkable new wine in my view and should rate @ 93/100. Grown on very established vines in the Geogrpahe Wine Region it represents excellent value around the low $30’s a bottle.” Ian Love CoCo’s

Our latest label – the 2024 Vin Des Rois Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre

The name Vin Des Rois, translating to "Wine of Kings" in French, is a tribute to Paul King and the King family, proprietors of this distinguished vineyard.

This exquisite blend features three noble grape varieties. Grenache (62%) is the heart and soul of this blend, providing vibrant character with soft, silky tannins that reveal luscious red raspberry and floral notes. With Shiraz (28%) contributing a touch of peppery spice while Mourvèdre (10%) lends the wine a firm structure and earthiness with a satisfying finish. Crafting Fine Wines

JarrahWood Estate, located at 183 Wade Road, Brookhampton (previously known as Byramgou Park), was acquired by the King Family during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 as a rural retreat for Paul King and his extended family, affectionately known as the Brodie Bunch or The Three Amigos.

Paul’s then partner envisioned planting trees and being a nature lover, while Paul aspired to cultivate and operate his own vineyard. Despite initial scepticism from friends knowledgeable about wine, this project is driven by passion, a love for country life, and the unique experiences that the southern region offers. Paul aims to transform this small vineyard and its surrounding bushland, rich with Jarrah and Marri trees, and other native Australian flora and fauna, into a cherished family estate where future generations can relish the natural splendour and tranquillity.

At JarrahWood Estate, we craft exceptional wines that reflect the rich history and unique terroir of Brookhampton. The vineyard's heritage dates back to the 1850s, and our commitment to quality is evident in every hand-picked grape. We advocate of the grow-it-yourself philosophy, a fundamental principle that resonates deeply with the ethos of JarrahWood Estate. Each bottle of wine embodies the essence of the estate, capturing the unique flavours and aromas of the region, and offering a taste of the passion and effort invested in this remarkable venture.
